Pinniped Kayak is pleased to offer distinctive and challenging sea kayak adventures for individuals, organized groups, and college wilderness programs.
For individuals and small groups, we enjoy designing instruction-based multi-day kayak adventures that expand your horizons and your skills. Visiting destinations that you might not be comfortable exploring without an experienced guide and instructor, these courses are intended to prepare you for your own future kayaking adventures. Travel downeast Maine's remote Bold Coast, between Cutler and Lubec; explore the Fox Islands archipelago at the mouth of Penobscot Bay, or cross Stonington's Merchants Row for a circumnavigation of Isle au Haut. We can help you find an adventure training trip that matches your skills, goals, and timeframe. Check out our Schedule to learn about upcoming multi-day adventures, or Contact Us to design a training expedition just for your group. Many of our multi-day journeys are led by a Maine authority on kayaking tripping, Michael Daugherty, author of AMC's Best Sea Kayaking in New England, released in 2016.
For institutions and corporate clients, we can arrange anything from single day trainings to week long expeditions. Outdoor experiences are custom designed to meet your group's time frame, budget, and interests. We enjoy involving our groups in all aspects of trip planning and execution, acting as educators and collaborators in your outdoor experience, rather than full-service caterers and cruise directors. Read Michael Daugherty's account of leading a week-long orientation expedition for College of the Atlantic. To discuss if our programs are right for you, please contact us.
Looking for shorter guided adventures? Pinniped Kayak specializes in providing instruction and adventures to people who are hooked on sea kayaking, and we find that full-day courses offer a less hurried pace and better value than half-day courses or trips. But we understand that's not what everyone is looking for. If instead you'd prefer a half-day or full-day guided kayak outing without instruction, in tandem or single kayaks, we recommend Old Quarry Ocean Adventures, in Stonington, and Coastal Kayaking Tours, in Bar Harbor.
