Just over the Horizon!

Good morning, Fellow Kayakers!

It’s March, and a season of paddling adventures is finally coming into view, just over the horizon!

You’ll find a bunch of options for 2022 on the website, including the return of our popular Whitewater for Sea Kayakers course (this year, in an awesome new location), and our favorite multi-day Paddler Development events - hitting the greatest paddling spots around the Mount Desert Island and Downeast region, and focusing on the individual skills and experiences that each paddler is most interested in pursuing.

In Mid-September, I’ll be teaming up with Todd Wright of Synaptic Sport for the pinnacle of our season. It’s 4 days of paddling waaaaay Downeast (the part of Maine where you can see Canada!) - Cobscook Bay, Lubec and the Bold Coast. This Downeast Skills and Leadership Weekend will be shaped to fit the goals of the participants, and can include British Canoeing skills awards and Sea Leader Training, if those are of interest. (This course is already proving to be popular, so don’t wait until this summer to sign up.) It’s certain to be a blast, and we hope you’ll join us!

As usual, we’ve got a full array of L2, L3 and L4 ACA programs this summer; Instructor Updates, Development Workshops and Certifications, as well as a L3 Coastal Kayak Trip Leader Award to kick of the season.

(Courses for newer paddlers are not yet on the site, but we’re looking forward to adding a complete progression of courses for the improving paddler, with the venerable Mark Schoon. Look for those on the website later this month)

P&H Kayaks, Werner Paddles, Immersion Research skirts, and other equipment is pretty much all back in stock. If you have any needs, please let me know and we’ll get your ready for the season.

I’m looking forward to getting out on the water with all of you soon! In the meantime, drop me a note and let me know how you’ve been, and what sort of adventures you’ve got coming up!

Cheers!
Nate
